I have 2 burners not working properly (both large ones)
One does not hold temp properly, on Medium setting, goes to high and gets too hot. (Infinite switch -?) The other one was on High, and appeared to shut off. Started working again when I turned it off and back on. (burner switch -?
Also part # PS1529263 - is that for item 54 or 54a on the diagram?
Thanks!!

Hello Steve, thank you for the question. Both large burners are controlled by their surface burner switches. The surface burner switch turns the element on and off and controls how much heat the element produces. You may need to replace your surface burner switch, part number PS2342883, on both burners. Part number PS1529263 is 54 in the diagram, it is the burner infinite switch. We hope this information is useful!
I appreciate the response to my previous question.
I understood that the infinite switch regulates the amount of heat to the burner element. How does the burner surface temp switch work? How does it know the infinite switch setting? - how do they work together? Also is part# PS1529263 for both item 54 & 54a?
Thanks!!
