Almost immediately upon energizing the unit, the microwave arcs violently at the magnetron induction point. Photograph of the transducer is well pitted behind the cover inside microwave containment area. Possibly faulty magnetron?

Hello Bob, Thank you for your inquiry. You can check the magnetron with a multimeter to see if it is faulty. For safety reasons, since the microwave capacitor can still store electricity even when the microwave is unplugged, it is usually advised that you discharge the capacitor before any attempt at repair.
