Need to replace led socket in top of fresh food side of fridge. Need to know how to remove old socket.
Thank you
For model number GSS23GGKECWW
Hello Angie, Thank you for the question. Once the bulb is removed, the socket just snaps in place. There is a tab at the front of the socket. Pull on the socket a bit and pop the socket out with a small flathead screw driver. Use the screw driver to pry apart the wires from the old socket and reverse the steps to install the new socket. We hope this helps!

My inside light has stopped working a replacement did not work as well. How do I know if it's the light socket or the light switch?
For model number GiE18ETHKRWW
Hello Donna, thank you for the question. Based on our understanding of the issue, we recommend checking both the lamp socket, part number PS12727147, and the light switch, part number PS8758429, for continuity. Use the multimeter, contact the red meter lead to one terminal of the socket, and the black lead to the other terminal of the socket. The meter display should indicate close to 120 volts. If sufficient voltage is not present, it is likely the socket is defective. Door switch has three wire terminals they are labeled as common, normally open and normally closed. To test the switch, turn your multimeter to the continuity setting. With the switch not pressed, touch one probe to the common terminal and the other probe between the normally open and normally closed terminals. If working properly, you should only receive a beep for continuity. Replace the defective one. We hope this solves your problem!
How do l remove and replace the light socket at the double lights above the pull out drawers in the fresh food side of my refrigerator?
Thanks
For model number GE PSB48YSXASS
Hello Rod, thank you for your question! Raise the grille panel, set the master power switch to the O (off) position and allow lamps to cool. Remove items from the shelf above the light shield. Remove the shelf. Use both hands to grasp each end of the light shield. Press in on the bottom of the shield with your thumbs while rotating the cover up and out. Remove the bulb and socket. After replacing the socket and bulb, replace the shield by engaging the bottom tab into the slot and applying light forward pressure until the shield snaps in place. Set the master power switch to the I (on) position and close the grille panel. We hope this information is useful!
