Hello, I have two issues going on with my Kitchenaid refrigerator. One issue is the fridge portion isn't staying cold even though the freezer is. The second issue is that the water dispenser is not dispensing water and ice maker isn't making ice even though the controls are working.
Whirlpool sent a tech out and he found the evaporator was frozen. He replaced the thermestor and asked that we keep the fridge in showroom mode for 24 hours to let it thaw. Problem is that after waiting 24 hours and taking it out of showroom mode, the fridge is still not getting down to temp.
Additional details, this is the second time since December the refrigerator has malfunctioned. The first time nothing but the water dispenser and lights worked. The main control board was replaced and everything started working again except the water dispenser (and ice maker). However, three weeks later the fridge started having issues. The tech tested the continuity of the two valves to the water dispenser and ice maker and they had continuity.
The tech thinks the next step is to replace the control board W10789113. My question is, will this control board fix both the fridge temperature issue and the water control issue?

Hello Gordon, thank you for contacting us. Provided that other parts such as the water inlet valve and fans are good, this electronic control board, part number PS12711988, can potentially solve the problem. We would also recommend checking the power board, part number PS12717428. It activates components such as the compressor and fans to keep the refrigerator cool. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!
