my microwave door won’t open. i took the control panel out and checked inside. when i press the button the lever did not push the latch up to open the door. i see a little broken plastic piece and i have no idea what it is. Could you help me narrow down what caused the door to not open?

Hi Tony, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, a damaged or broken door lever, part number PS12705736, or a broken door hinge, part number PS12705727, might be causing the door to not open. A stuck component of any of these parts might be preventing the lever from properly engaging. We hope this information helps!
my frigidaire microwave door won’t open. i removed the control panel and see something broken but i don’t know what it is and where it belongs. i submitted my question and got the answer earlier and i was recommended to replace the lever and/or the hinge. However the white lever looks intact, not broken and i don’t know what the hinge supposed to look like. Where is it located? can you tell me what is the broken part found on the bottom inside the microwave? (I can’t send any pictures here). where should i put it back? When i push the button the lever rotates up just a little but does not touch or engage the latch to open the door. What should i look into? Thanks.

Hi Tony, thank you for reaching out. The hinge is located at the top of the door. But, we suggest you check the door latch, part number PS12705724, because it keeps the door closed. The door latch is located inside the door assembly. We hope this sorts out your problem!
