This is the user interface cover, which goes over the user interface panel on compatible dishwashers, so you can easily select and adjust your dishwasher cycle settings. If this interface cover is physically broken and/or not allowing you to select and change cycles on your dishwasher, it should be replaced. Replacing it will require some disassembly of your dishwasher, so tools like a socket wrench and screwdriver will be needed. This cover panel is sold individually and does not come with the computerized control panel included.

Cheap console cover
The part came through in flying colors, I installed it and we're back up and running. My only issue why it broke in the first place. GE, I'm sorry but your through. I've been a loyal customer for 35 years. Your quality left years ago when you divorced yourself from what you do best, and that ain't funding trucks. Get back to what you do best, make the best appliances in the world, with old quality. People will flock back, trust me. Rick Royer

Impossible to install
This Console cover is basically impossible to install without breaking the tabs while trying. It comes with no instructions and does not easily snap on. You have to really pry it on which results in you breaking some of the tabs/clips while doing it.

How do you attach without breaking the tabs?
Hi Stephen,
Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug turn the circuit breaker off for the dishwasher. Once the power to the dishwasher has been tuned off, your first step will be open the door all the way and to remove the screws securing the control panel and pull the panel off. Depress the tabs to release control board cover. Use a flat head screw driver to release the tab through the bottom of the panel. Detach the ribbon connector and use a screwdriver to detach the tab to release the control board. Depress the tabs to release the door latch assembly and remove the old control panel and touchpad. You can nor install the new control panel and touchpad. Follow the steps in reverse and once everything has been reinstalled, restore power to the dishwasher. Your dishwasher should now work for you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
