Dryer would not start
It was easy. Saved a bunch of money by not getting a repair person. Part arrived mfaster than I thought. Great service.

The replacement part "Button Start" (item WEO4X24719) has a metal liner inside the cylinder that seems to make it too small and unable to fit.
1) Is this the correct part?
2) If it is the correct part, how am I supposed to make it fit?
For model number GTD33GASK0WW
Hello Barbara, Thank you for your inquiry. The D shaped cylinder inside the button is designed to fit the shaft on the start button, and as per the parts list we received from the manufacturer, it is the one guaranteed to fit your model. It should just fit through the panel and onto the shaft of the push to start switch. You will need to remove the back panel to access the switch, remove the wires and switch, push the button back through the front of the panel, then insert the new button, and then insert the switch into it and replace the wires. Good luck with your repair.

My dryer stopped working mid cycle. It will start and continue to run when I push and hold the start button down but will stop when I release the start button. I ordered and replaced both the switch and the start button knob/cover. No joy. Same same. I examined the door switch. The start button I removed and the new one I received did not have a click as you might expect when pushing in a start button. When I looked at the start button, it appears an electrical connection is made when you push in on it (brass strip). When released the established connection should remain but it does not. I think that is where the problem is. What part do I need to replace to establish that electron flow path to keep the motor running and heating elements on when the start button is released? Thanks.

Hello Greg, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the drive motor, part number PS12743452, to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
Dryer is getting hard to start you have to push hard alot of times for it to start so sad bc this is a really new dryer but wondering if I need both push to start switch and button start assembly or if just one of those is what I need . Thanks so much

Hello Jamie, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, the issue is most probably with the push to start switch, part number PS3487190. It starts the dryer when you press and release the button. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
