This meat probe sensor is an authentic manufacturer replacement part for cooking appliances that have a built-in meat probe feature. It is plugged into the receptacle assembly for use inside the appliance. The sensor measures the internal temperature of meat during the cooking process and sends the readings to the control panel where they can be viewed in real time. This ensures that the food is cooked to your desired level of doneness. Over time the internal sensor components may become faulty or the probe can fail due to mechanical damage resulting in inaccurate temperature readings, and failure to communicate with the control panel. Follow the sensor cable to the insertion point in the oven cavity and disconnect the faulty sensor. Install the new sensor into the insertion point and reattach the connectors to complete the repair.

Original Meat Probe insulation separated on the probe end
I searched the web for a replacement and Parts Select had a picture and part number for the exact same probe. I ordered the probe and it arrived very quickly. The problem was that the probe I received didn't match the picture as shown on the web site. Instead I received a probe that was a different color and the actual probe was about 2"
... Read moreshorter than the one I was replacing. I called customer service and was told that the probe I received was the new version that the older version was discontinued. If they had updated their pictures on the web site I would not have ordered the probe. Parts Select customer service did apologize for the issue and offered to have me return for a refund.
I will order from Parts Select but I will call first to verify that the item pictured is the actual item being shipped. Parts Select please update the part pictures to show the actual items being sold.

I would like to order a probe for my oven as the previous homeowner did not leave the leave it with the oven. I would need the entire probe attachment and am also not sure how to use it. Will the part come complete and with instructions. Can you help me order the correct replacement? The serial number is af54106507 if that helps.
For model number FGES3065PFG
Hello Joanne, Thank you for your inquiry. This part is the meat probe sensor which measures the internal temperature of meat during cooking. The probe would just plug into the receptacle assembly which comes as a separate part 139017205. Hope this help!

I am concerned about the plastic on the meat probe, won't it melt? The previous owner did not leave any probe with the oven nor a manual on how to use it. Thanks

I have an Electrolux double oven. The previous owners did not leave the temperature probe. The temperature probe would screw in to an outlet in the top left of each oven. The probe on this page does not look like a screw-in type. My oven has a manufacture date of October 2008.
