Replaced door switch and light comes on but drum does not turn on.
For model number MEDB850WL0
Hi Donald, thank you for your inquiry. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the drive belt for any signs of wear or damage. If the belt is in good condition and properly connected to both the drum and motor, then you may need to replace the drive motor, part number PS11754878, to fix the issue. We hope that helps!

Hi,
I believed the motor is dead, but I am not 100% sure.
The dryer light up, but nothing happen when you press start.
How can I test the motor before I order a new one?
Also, mine have 2 pulleys, one on each end. From the research I did, they are not showing a 2 pulleys motor. Do I have to remove the pulley from my old motor?
Thank you
Eric
For model number YWED8400YW2
Hello Eric, thank you for your inquiry. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the drive motor, part number PS11754878, to fix the issue. The drive motor contains both of the pulleys. You can test the old motor using the following instructions:
1. Rotate the multimeters range selection dial to the lowest setting for ohms of resistance.
2. Connect the black meter lead to the motor protector terminal, and the red lead to the start winding wire terminal.
3. If the meter display shows two to five ohms of resistance, the drive motor start winding has electrical continuity.
4. Keeping the black meter lead on the motor protector terminal, move the red meter lead to the run winding wire terminal to see if that has proper electrical continuity.
5. If both windings show two to five ohms of resistance, the motor has continuity and should be functioning properly.
6. If the display does not change when testing, the motor has no continuity and you will know it is defective.
We hope this helps!
