Pretty tricky, but once waist deep it all worked out.
This was a pretty easy change out. I note the most tricky part was not damaging any of the many plastic clip attachments the manufacturer had cleverly hidden. I suppose this makes factory assembly easy, and it was for me once understood. The few screws that existed were easy to find.
So far, so good. We are back making ice, but not as new it seems....the refrigerator is 10 years old. I'll check the water supply next, but we went from zero to 85 mph instantly, with 100 mph being the goal. Regardless, I think a $203 part has bought us several more months and maybe years before we replace the entire unit.
Finding a service man that could fix it was impossible and I suspect the last one, who failed had broken some tabs already.

How do i remove the box that holds the icemaker? I took off front cover and removed 1/4 screw on right side. Cannot pull box out? Can you help?
For model number GI7FVCXWY00
Hi Ken,
Thank you for your question. Generally you have to push a small flat head screw driver int the hole on the side cover that is on the left hand side of the cavity where your ice maker sits. You have to pop that cover off and then push down on the retaining tab at the left bottom edge of the ice maker to be able to pull that part out. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

Ice maker isn't making very much ice and the motor that turns to put ice in glass doesn't turn and makes a hum for 2 seconds and stops what do I need?
For model number G17FVCXWA00
Hello Thomas, Thank you for the question. If the Ice Maker is not making enough Ice, you may have a water supply issue caused by a defective Valve. For the dispenser, it sounds like a defective Auger Motor. We hope this helps!

My ice maker overflows the ice tray and fills the entire ice maker cabinet with ice. Will replacing the ice maker assembly fix this problem? What causes the fridge to overflow the ice tray?
For model number MFT2771XEM0
Hello Andoni, Thank you for your inquiry. Water overflowing the ice tray is usually caused by the water inlet valve, or the ice maker pulling excess water from the water inlet valve. There are two water inlet valves for your model, the primary one, which supplies water to the ice maker, and the secondary valve at the back of the refrigerator, which controls the water supply coming into the refrigerator. We have included a link to our video on how to test the water inlet valve with a multimeter and test the ice maker. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Ice maker is making little to no ice and the ice cubes that are made are smaller than normal. Also lots of water (possibly condensation) on front cover left half of refrigerator. Does this sound like an issue with the ice maker itself or something else?
For model number gi7fvcxxy00
Hello Thomas, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend replacing the water inlet valve, part number PS11738654. We hope this solves your problem!
