I need a burner spark electrode and based on the model number of my range, it is suggested that the part I need is WP9754215. How easy is it to replace? There two screws to take the top burner off and once its off...does the electrode pull up and then replace the new one and then push down for a connection?
For model number KGRT607HWH6
Hi Penny,
Thank you for your question. This should not be too difficult to install. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. First, remove all the burner grates and caps from the cooktop. Then remove the mounting screws securing all of the burner bases. Then insert a putty knife under the sides of the main top to release the spring clips. Lift the cooktop up and support it with a sturdy object. Use a 16 mm open ended wrench to remove the orifice holder you wish to replace. Remove the mounting screw to release the old electrode and disconnect the wire. Attach the new electrode to the wire and secure it with the screw. Follow the steps in reverse to finish. Restore power to the stove and everything should now work for you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
