Washer works but stays on wash cycle. I have to manually advance to the next cycle to drain. It will then complete the entire wash, rinse and spin cycles. Is this problem the timer switch or is it something else?

Hi Carole, thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could cause the issue but I would suggest first checking your lid switch to make sure that part is working. Sometimes when the lid switch is malfunctioning it will stop working right at the drain cycle because that is also when your spin cycle starts. The lid switch may think the machine lid is open and so it will not allow the appliance to go into the spin cycle to let the appliance drain automatically. However if that part is fine, then you may want to actually check your drain pump itself there. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
