Easy repair, Tracking # confusing
Very glad we were able to purchase this from PartSelect--price was much lower than through Maytag's listed price, had it been available through them. My range is once again functioning as it should. The only downside was that the "USPS" tracking number was not valid and did not fit the format, so we had no idea when or if the part was on its way or where it was coming from.

How can I turn this range in to an lp ? From my understanding its on the stove, I just don't know were to locate it.
For model number MGR5755BDQ
Hi Jessica, Thank you for the question. There is a brass nut on the pressure regulator that you will need to remove and a small apparatus underneath that can be flipped to convert to LP. To convert the stove top you will need to adjust the orifices. Hope this helps!

You say that the regulator has a brass nut to be removed and a piece has to be flipped to convert to lp. Is the piece that has to be flipped marked to which side is for lp?
For model number CRG9700CAE
Hi Ralph, Thank you for the question. They are not marked but LP needs to have a smaller hole and NG would need to have a bigger hole. Hope this helps!

My oven igniter glows but will not light but if I turn on a burner on top it does light most of the time. Does that indicate that this part is the right fix?
For model number MGR5752BDQ
Hello LaDonna, Thank you for the question. The igniter can glow and not give off enough current to open the valve and allow it to release gas to light. You can use a Multi Meter to test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

In a question from jessica regarding converting from ng to lp you stated; "there is a brass nut on the pressure regulator that you will need to remove and a small apparatus underneath that can be flipped to convert to lp. To convert the stove top you will need to adjust the orifices." i am converting the other way. From lp to ng. Assuming i flip the apparatus the opposite direction? How do i adjust the stove top orifices?
For model number MGRH752BDW
Hi Jim, Thank you for the question. For the stove top you will need to replace the orifices back to natural gas orifices. For this model you will need the Orifice and Tube Assembly - Right Side, Part Number: PS11742985 and Orifice and Tube Assembly - Left Side, Part Number: PS11742986. Good luck with the repair!

Sir, i am converting Magic Chef/Maytag model cgr3742adw i need to convert from lp to ng. I have the new lines with orifices for the top burners . And understand i need to flip pressure regulator nut. Do oven burners need any change on this model either adjustment or orifice change. I am unable to find much data on this older model.
For model number magic chef cgr3742adw
Hi Dan,
Thank you for your question. Please check your owner manual as certain models do not require a switch for the oven orifice as they can use both. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

From one day to the next, all burners now burn with a yellow flame instead of clean blue. Is there a mixture adjustment somewhere on this stove? Or does this indicate a regulator issue?
For model number CGR3765ADC
Hi Gerald, thank you for your inquiry. Use a small sharp utensil (not wooden) to clean out the burner holes. Clean burner valve of any debris or residue from grease spill-overs. Be sure to check if your gas pressure regulator changed over or that the brass orifice (spud) was adjusted. The most common cause of burner flames burning yellow is low gas pressure from the regulator, which is an easy fix you can do at home. A yellow flame can also be caused by an incorrect mixture of gas and air. You can typically fix this by adjusting the burner's air intake shutters. If this does not help, you will need to replace the gas pressure regulator, part number PS11744135. Glad to be of assistance!

I am wondering about the conversion for my gas range regulator. It does not come with one. My stove is about 5 -7 years old and it has been discontinued. I bought it used I have ordered all the other orifices, but did not know there was an orifice on the regulator.

My oven produces soot, the range burners and the oven. What should I do?
For model number CGR3760ADW
Hi Linda, Thank you for the question. The fuel to air mixture is not correct causing the soot. There is not enough air being mixed with the gas causing incorrect combustion. I suggest checking the air shutter for the bake burner. The air shutter is located near the back wall behind the broiler/warmer drawer. Remove the drawer and locate the air adjustment shutter. Hope this helps!
