Read through before beginning repair.
After removing the knob, access the timer by prying out at each end of the control panel cover with a slotted screwdriver. (Each end having two tabs). Set c ... Read more over and start button it retains aside.
My timer had sheared at the face of the knob-post reciever.
Remove the two screws attaching the timer and free the slot prong terminals from back of timer being replaced. Return terminals into correct orientation on new timer.
Door Switch Replacement.
Note that door panel both retains and supports dryer tub. Open dryer door. Remove door panel bolts found at the underside of bottom corners. Gently tilt out door panel at bottom and disconnect at locking connectors. This frees the felt door panel tub-guide from the plastic tub edge faring clip-thingy. In doing so, expect the dryer tub to sag slighly.
I found it a perfect time to inspect the felt guide at the rear of the tub. With the tub tilting down, the top was open enough to comfortably remove the debris using a non sharp bladed instrument and have it fall into the tub. Use caution so as not to damage, snag or misshapen rub guide.
Slowly rotate drum to inpect the entire circumference of guide. Also rotate dryer drum drive wheels to inspect for accumulated debris as well.Vaccuum debris and lint from drum and dryer housing. Once the new switch is installed in door
panel, reattach locking connectors and return wiring retainer to placement on door panel. Assure their clearance of drum rotation. Replace door panel top tabs into rests, angling panel outward at bottom, then carefully align dryer tub through open door by pressing tub at upper rear toward rear of machine and seating door panel felt rub-guide to drum faring clip-thingy. Holding panel in place, replace door panel bolts. Snug-check screws and bolts as you reassemble. Replace angled cover panel. Replace start button and cover panel and timer knob. I had noticed increased oscillation in drying cycle, and so had little surprise so much debris had come from dryer tub rear felt guide. It may not have cured the oscillation. but I was unsure about the debris effect due to possible drag on the motor. I may have forgotten some bolts removal, just be sure you don't have any left over when you're done w reassembly.
