My Whirlpool dishwasher normal and start buttons are not working. These are the ones I use most. Trying to order the correct part. Was wondering if this sounds like a control panel issue? If so, no images available on this site. Would I order a control panel or a control panel and touch pad/white?
For model number DU1101XTPQ8
Hi Rob,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing with a multi-meter to see if it is your control panel that you would need to replace. First and foremost, disconnect the power to your appliance before starting the test. Remove the screws that are holding your inner door panel in place. Then carefully remove it so that you can get access to the electronic control board. Remove the cover and then unclip the ribbon that connects both the electronic control board and the control panel. There is an arrow on the ribbon cable by one of the contacts, that arrow indicates that contact is number 1. You will want to test the contacts across 6 and 10. When you push the Start button these contacts should close. If they do not, then you will need to replace this part. Good luck, I hope that helps with your repair.
