My Maytag dryer will not stop running. There is no dial setting to tell it to turn off after a certain period of time. There are settings like "less dry" or "more dry." i am not sure what tells the "timer" that the clothes are dry and if that part is bad or if the "timer" itself is bad. Any thoughts or suggestions?Sincerely, karl

Hi Karl, thank you for your question. Looking at your model information there are a few parts that you should take out and test to see which one is giving you the issue. The first parts to check in this case would be all of your thermostats and thermal fuses. You can test those parts with a multi meter and they should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. If those parts are fine, you should then go on to testing your heating element as well. You can also test that with a multi meter and it should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms. If those parts are all fine then you may want to take a look at your timer being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I HAVE A MAYTAG DE313 ELECTRIC DRYER. THE SELECT CYCLE NO LONGER MOVES. IT STAYS ON THE HEAT YOU SET IT ON. IS THERE A PART FOR THIS PROBLEM AND AN INSTALL INSTRUCTION
For model number DE313
Hello Morris, Thank you for writing. This could be an indication the Timer Switch is faulty and may need to be replaced. We were able to locate one of our How to Videos for this model. The part and appliance might be slightly different; however, they will have the same basic steps for instillation. We hope this helps.
