How do you replace the pull starter rope
For model number 31CC BL410
Hello Paul, thank you for your question. First you want to gain access to the starter by removing the starter cover or housing. Once you gain access to the assembly, remove the starter pulley by removing any clips that may hold in place. Take the pulley away from the housing and remove any rope from the pulley. Once the pulley is cleaned of any extra rope or other debris, install the rope by inserting it through the opening in the pulley. Pull it through and tie the end off with a knot and then push the knot down inside one of the groves in the pulley. This keeps the knot from interfering with the pulley. Reassembly the pulley, and make sure the pulley is aligned with the spring then the put the retainer back onto the shaft of the pulley. The next step will be to turn the pulley to wind the spring. While you're doing this put tension on the pulley, so the pulley doesn't spring back. Once it is wound as far as it will go back it up until the rope is in line with the eyelet that the rope passes through. Thread the rope through the eyelet (continue to keep pressure on the pulley) then put the pulley retainers back in place. Thread the rope through the handle, and reassembly the starter cover. I hope this helps!
