This was a range top. i removed the 12 hex machine scews holding on the top, then removed the two star screws holding the old switch. there were fore wire that had fitted on tabs. Hooked them to the new swtch and reassembeld. Easy repair since i could lift the unit out without disconnecting main cables. Replacement range would have been oveer $1000. Psrt was under $40 and delivered in a matter of days.
Lift off blower vent cover. Lift out old filter. Clean walls and bottom of down draft using degrease soap and warm water. Dry. Discovered my grease filter will not install diagonally as shown in unit manual. Decided to drop into downdraft and put in front of fan suction. Found this left a gap at the top of fan suction that was not covered by the filter. Cut piece of wood 1 inch thick and width and length to drop down in the downdraft and lay on bottom. Set filter on top of wood in front of the fan suction. Verified that fan suction would pull filter tight against the opening by turning fan on and off. Put vent cover back over downdraft and told wife I was done.
Filter was starting to come apart from frequent cleaning.
I removed the center vent and inserted the filter...easy as pie...I went to your website and everything was there in an easy to follow way that even I could understand, my husband was totally impressed that I took care of it on my own....silly man.....it was so easy and delivery was extremely quick....so simple....thank you for making it so!!!!
The Fan Knob that was original factory stopped popping up
1) Take the old knob off by pulling straight up 2)Make sure to completely remove parts that may have stayed in the hole 3) push new Fan Knob on make sure to line up properly for the D. Don't be nervous if it looks a little different than the original factory. Much better design and this company shipped when promised. Very easy to see what you need and no hassles.
Removed stove top from the counter. Removed the glass frame and glass from the top. Removed the broken switch. Replaced with the new switch. Reassembled the unit and replaced it in the counter top.
One problem is the switch only fits in the space one way because of the first burner light. When installed the only way the knob fits on the switch stem makes the dot on the knob backwards. It now shows to be on medium speed when it is off.
Original infinite switch on cooktop (Jenn-Air model JED8230AED)needed to be replaced
Replaced original switch with replacement sent using the part finder tool of PartSelect. Everything went fine EXCEPT the replacement switch's H1 terminal did not correspond to the original switches H1 terminal. Proper terminal connections were as follows:
Original Replacement ----------- ----------------- L1 L1 L2 L2 P P H1 HC H2 H1
If you get H1 & HC reversed, controls will work correctly for each of the two cooktop elements individually, but when used together, both will turn on/off simultaneously whenever either switch closes.
switch for burner, when turned on, would set breaker to off
Lifted stove top from counter, removed screws securing glass top, removed screws from switch housing. Removed color coded wires from old switch, one at a time, and secured them to the new switch. Put it all back together and just like new. Probably saved $200 service call.
Fan switch only fits in one way and makes knob point to medium setting when off. The switch did not come with a mounting nut and the original in Jenn-Air didnt match.
Lifted cooktop out of cabinet, removed flange around glass cooktop, remove glass and access the fan swicth. I used teflon tape to get original mounting nut to stay tight on the plastic fan switch.
took stove out of counter, propped up with supports, left wires connected. dislmantled stove (no priorexperience) turned each burner on, checked to see if power reached burner with simple 110 220v tester, found burners did noty get power in all positons so burners must be ok., unplugged burner control units to get part numbers, no numbers, went to your site and found diagram with part number. , ordered parts, they came in 3 days, re-assembled and unit worked fine. Easy repair, new flat stove top costs 1200. fixed unit for less than 100. parts couple of hours of my time. 100. with about 4 hrs ofmy time total.
disconnect power to range, took top off range turn upside down, remove screws holding element, disconnect wires to element and replace element with new element put every thing back as in reverse order and the range is working fine again.
