The knob to start the dryer turns but no longer will pull out to start the machine. Should i just replace the knob or is it something more serious?
For model number FGX831FS3
Hello Susan,
Thank you for your question. There is a electric piece that typically goes behind knobs on appliances. Usually, you'll find it is called a "timer". In this case, it's no different. The dryer timer has a shaft that the knob turns when connected to it. If it will no longer pull out, we would recommend taking a look at the timer for your model FGX831FS3, which would be under part number PS462363. We hope this helps you.
About midway through the washing machine's spin cycle it starts screeching extremely loud. When I turn it off, it continues until the drum stops. I've checked the motor and idler pulley and they appear to be fine. The noise appears to be coming from near the bottom of the drum shaft. What are your suggestions and what parts maybe needed? Thank you for your help.

Hello and thank you for writing.
Unplug the washer from the wall outlet.
cate the gap between the front panel and the underside of the top panel that contains the door to the washer.
Insert a putty knife or another flat, rigid tool through the gap and push the clips backward to detach them from the front panel.
Tip the front panel forward away from the washer. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
