Can't turn on my AC/ heater with the button on front. I used to be able to use the remote control to turn on and off . Because I barely could see the LED lights.

Hello Eric, thank you for contacting us. A faulty thermistor can sense the wrong temperature and cause the heater to not turn on. You may need to replace the indoor thermistor, part number PS12726870. If that does not help, we would suggest replacing the thermal control, part number PS2374440. We hope this helps.
After calling other parts supply companies with not much help, I found a helpful representative at Parts Select. My unit is very old & not many parts are available, so I asked the rep if she thought just buying a remote control would solve the issue since it was obvious that the whole panel was not broken or unusable. ... Read moreut said she would allow me to return it if it didn't. She sent the remote control out that day, I had it in 2 days. Not only did it totally solve the problem, it saved me a lot of money. Though these companies are not allowed to give technical advice, she was very helpful, friendly & efficient.
