This is a grease filter, and it works with your range/stove/oven. This part is chrome-colored and measures 16.5 inches long by 9 inches wide. It is made of metal and is intended for use with downdraft ranges and cooktops. The function of this part is to ventilate the air while cooking. By doing this, the grease filter will trap debris and cooking residue from the exhaust air. There are no tools required for you to complete this installation. Before putting in your new filter, it is best practice to wipe the area down after your old piece was removed.

Replace Grease Filter For Downdraft Stove Top

Lift off blower vent cover. Lift out old filter. Clean walls and bottom of down draft using degrease soap and warm water. Dry. Discovered my grease filter will not install diagonally as shown in unit manual. Decided to drop into downdraft and put in front of fan suction. Found this left a gap at the top of fan suction that was not covered by the filter. Cut piece of wood 1 inch thick and width and length to drop down in the downdraft and lay on bottom. Set filter on top of wood in front of the fan suction. Verified that fan suction would pull filter tight against the opening by turning fan on and off. I have a 26 year old stove top and the electric coils heated intermittantly. I got tired of banging on them to get them to work. I went to various local stores ( Lowe's, appliance stores) and the parts would have been twice the cost and taken a while to come in. I then googled your site and found

I popped out the old burner cartridges and gladly threw them away and popped in the new ones. They work great and no banging! I changed out the old grease filter in the down draft and put the new grill grate on top of the grill in seconds. The timer knob fit well but the burner knobs did not so I had to return those. My "new" stove top looks basically the same except new. The grill grate being black updates the look somewhat. The best thing is that the burners work. Thanks for everything. Read more...

Old element was worn out (burst in line)

First, I cut the power to the stove to be sure no electrical current could be conducted. Next, I removed the two screws that hold the heating element to the back of the stove. Then, I removed the oven racks and slowly slid the heating element out until I could see the wires that attached to it. Because the element has the female end of the wire, I pulled the male ends out of both the left and right side of the element.. This releases the old element and I discarded it. Next, I took the new element, slide the male ends into the new female ends that protruded from both the right and left side of the element. I crimped these slightly with my pliers to make sure that they would stay secure when I pushed the element into place. With the new element securely attached, I slowly slid the element into place, this forces the exposed wires to be retracted out of sight and in the insulated part of the oven. I then took the two screws that I had to removed in the beginning, and used them to fasten this new heating element to the back of the oven. Replaced grill with cooking elements

Bought a new house last fall. Jenn-Air range had two element cooktop with two element grill. Oven went out and while service man was here, I asked him to check on the price of another two heater element panel to replace the grill. He subsequently called to say the part I wanted was not available. I immediately got on the internet and did a search. Found it "ships same day" for what I thought was a very reasonable price at PartSelect. Unplugged the grill and plugged in the cooking plate. We now have four usable "burners" instead of two.
