Either I didn't read the fine print or there was no fine print, but the part didn't ship for two weeks after I ordered it. They had no problem taking payment, but gave no updates about the part. After the first week of waiting I emailed customer service who responded 'it will ship Friday'. They didn't say which Friday.... I have the float for this GE dehumidifier but i removed the styrofoam piece, before reading the manual that said i should not remove it. So, the auto shut off does not work, because it has to have the styrofoam piece. If i buy the replacement float part does it come with the correct styrofoam?

Dehumidifier keeps shutting off when it shouldn't. For example, if I set the humidity level at 55% it will run but just shut off even if the screen shows its still at 65% humidity in the room. GE troubleshooting has been zero help and said they do not offer replacement parts for their dehumidifiers or know what the issue could be. Anyone else running into a similar issue? We have only had this thing for a little over a year. Thanks!

Thank you for your question. If the dehumidifier is turning off too soon, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the float.
