If you notice water leaking out onto the floor, you should inspect the gasket for damages and replace as necessary. The gasket is gray in color and is approximately 22 inches long. It is made of plastic and is sold individually. This is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Gasket at the bottom of the door disintegrated.
Took off the kickplate, diconnected the wires and removed the whole door by lifting straight up, removing spring wires from hinges. Once door is disconnected from the machine, removed one hinge by removing bolt. Slid gasket into place, secured hinge back in place, then reconnected wires at bottom, replaced hinge spring wires and slid door back down onto hinges. Now that we know how to do it, could do it in 15 min to half hour. Read more...

The tub gasket, also known as the door gasket runs along the perimeter of your dishwasher basin and creates a seal that prevents water from leaking out when the tub is full. If you notice water on the floor after you run your dishwasher, it may be an indication that the gasket is loose or damaged. If your door gasket is damaged, it will need to be replaced. To replace the gasket, simply pull the old gasket out of the groove it rests in, and press the new gasket into place. This part is made of black rubber and is sold individually.

Water was leaking from the bottom of the door during wash cycle
I replaced the tub gasket around the door circumference which took less than five minutes to replace. However the problem was replacing the beach gasket that prevents the water from flowing out of the dishwasher tub. The door had to be unhinged from the dishwasher which was unscrewed from the cabinets and brought out from its location. After the door was completely removed it was laid on its front. After removing the door hinges which were secured with just one bolt I tried to slide the back panel off the front panel but without any success. So I had to remove the torn and worn out gasket while working in a tight space. This is where the problem rose because according to installation instructions there are screws supposed to be holding it to the main body frame. However, in my case rivets were used by the manufacture since this was the first time the gasket was being replaced. So I had to use a power tool With a grinding bit to remove the face of the rivets and essentially cut them out to reveal the underlying holes. After this I replace the beach gasket and then used half inch SS Philips bolts and nuts to secure the gasket to the body frame. Read more...

Noticed small leak at the bottom corner of the door
I looked at the gasket for the door, and noticed that it was flattened out and also noticed that there were two other seals at the lower left and right corners that were also hard and flattened. I found the parts for my dishwasher on this site and ordered them. Once I received them, I removed the old ones. They just came right out, and I inserted the new ones in the same spot. It was then that I noticed that there is another gasket for the door, that goes at the bottom of the inside of the door. The gasket for the door goes all the way around the outside, except for about a 4 inch section at the bottom of the door, right in the middle. I realized that I probably needed to get a new one of those too, so I ordered that part. I am now waiting on that small, 4 inch door gasket. Read more...

Leakage around the door
1. Replacing the TUB GASKET is very easy and does not require tools. Pull out the old gasket and wipe out the channel. The gasket is marked with a small paint mark at the center and that indicates where to start at the top. The larger part of the gasket goes towards the outside. Firmly press the gasket all the way into the channel. The gasket should just reach the bottom of the tub. Do not use tools or you may damage the gasket. The gasket must be nearly all the way into the channel or the door will not close. Expect the door to close quite firmly for the first few uses.

2. Replacing the DOOR BOTTOM SHORT SEAL. This repair is not technically difficult, but is physically difficult. Without complete removal of the door, nothing needs to be or can be taken apart to do this replacement. I recommend removal of the lower basket, the upper basket and the wash arm before beginning. A drop light inside the tub is helpful. Using pliers or vise-grips grab the old seal and bend up and down then back and forth until it will slide all the way to one side. Once to one side use pliers to bent towards the back until its snap seal (observe new seal) realeases and you can carefully continue by hand to remove the seal the rest of the way across the bottom of the door. Observe how the old seal came out and which side was UP. With the new seal in hand, gently work the snap seal open slightly (this will help to get it back in place). With a flashlight and inspection mirror, check where the new seal will attach to (and clean if necessary). Center the new seal with the correct side up and work from one end. You may need pliers to push in the new seal, but be very careful not to damage the new bottom seal soft part. When it snaps in place you are done.

Hotpoint Dishwasher Gasket Insert

The gasket insert is connected to the gasket in the bottom of your dishwasher door. It is a small piece of white plastic that measures approximately 4 inches by 1 inch, and is sold individually. The gasket insert helps the gasket create a seal on the door, so water doesn’t leak out when the dishwasher is running. If your dishwasher is leaking, check to see if the gasket insert is damaged. If the insert is damaged, you will need to replace it. The problem may be with the gasket itself, in which case you may need to replace that part as well.

Water leak in the front when the machine is used.
Shut the power off. Removed 7 screws off from the back of the front door. Lifted the panel carefully from the door and rested on the front panel. Removed the old door gasket and Gasket insert and cleaned the area.
Soaked the new door Gasket in warm water for few minute before use.
Inserted the door Gasket starting from the top in the groves and pressed it down. It was little difficult to see at the back to insert the Gasket insert. Used small pocket mirror to insert the Gasket in place. Put back all the screws. Worked out good. No more leak.

PartSelect Number PS263930

The drain valve shaft seal is a part for your dishwasher drain pump valve. This seal creates a watertight closure around the flapper valve shaft. This part can be accessed through the access panel at the front for a built-in. For a portable dishwasher, consider disconnecting and unplugging the taps and lay on a blanket to access the bottom of the machine. This will need to be replaced if you notice leaking coming from the pump. This part measures approximately 3/8 inches in diameter and is black in color. This is a genuine OEM part that comes right from the manufacturer.

Water leak from gate (diverter) valve shaft
This was a fairly simple repair. After disconnecting power to the dishwasher and removing the panel below the door, first had to remove a retainer C clip from the gate valve shaft. Then disconnected the linkage from the gate valve solenoid, removed two return springs and slid the gate valve contol arm off the shaft. Then removed the solenoid bracket that was fastened to the housing by 2 screws. This allowed access to the push on nut on the valve shaft. Removed the old push on nut which exposed the leaking seal. Removed the bad seal, then moistened and carefully slid on and seated the new drain valve shaft seal. Affixed new push on nut. Reinstalled the above mentioned parts that were removed. Problem solved - no more leak. Total cost $18.81 for factory GE parts plus $6.95 shipping. Thank you PartSelect. Read more...

This genuine OEM dishwasher door seal gasket prevents water from leaking out of the dishwasher. If your washer is leaking from the door, check for wear on the gasket, and to ensure it is properly fitted. A hardened gasket can also make the door difficult to close. If the gasket is faulty, the part should be replaced right away.

Noticed a small seepage of water at the lower corners of the dishwasher door. Gasket had become hard and unpliable. Bottom part of gasket had come out of channel and would not stay in place.
I had replaced the door gasket a few years earlier and had difficulty fitting the gasket around the bottom corners. This time I removed the plastic inner door panel for complete access to the gasket channel. I opened the new gasket package and let it stand unrolled overnight to remove the kinks. Once the old gasket was removed I took a thin piece of wood wrapped with a cloth to clean out the gasket track. The gasket snaps in easily. Be careful not to over stretch the gasket around the bottom corners. The curve of the gasket will resemble the curve of the door panel when set correctly. This is where I had trouble earlier when I tried to set the gasket in the channel with the door panel still attached. It is much easier to do this with the door panel removed. Read more...

seal around bottom of door leaking heavy water onto floor during use
First you must remove all screws around inside door frame, and remove panel. (I would recommend using something to weight door down after removing panel from door as it will try to continue to close) Flip panel over and remove old seal by simply pulling off, paying close attention to how the seal is fitted and direction it faces. Clean area of any debris, and let the learning curve begin, after several frustrating attempts, I found it easier to install new seal by first installing it backwards by sliding seal along its track and groove, this will allow it to loosen up, then remove it and install the seal by lapping it over the the track and snapping/sliding it into place. The repair itself from the service center would of been $180.00 - $200.00, I did it myself for $39.00. I would recommend anybody with a sense of aptitude and patience to do this repair themselves. After some research I found out that this model and problem is a common repair, which is somewhat ridiculous in my opinion, as the machine itself is only 2 1/2 years old and it came pre-installed in a new home.
