This is an inlet valve for various washing machines. Inlet valves are responsible for opening and closing as needed, to allow water to enter the washer during the washing cycle. This inlet valve features a hot and cold-water valve, as well as the necessary wire harness to easily plug it in. Since inlet valves are an electrically controlled solenoid valve, they can fail either due to electrical failure such a short, or after long, extended use. If your inlet valve fails, your washer will likely relay an error code, or it simply will not wash your clothes due to the lack of water, and the valves will need to be replaced. Replacing this valve will require a screwdriver and/or socket wrench, and some disassembly of your washer will be necessary. This inlet valve is an individually sold OEM part and does not come with any accessories or other parts.

This is a water inlet valve which is used in washing machines. The valve controls and monitors the flow of water into the washer. It has a multi-mount bracket and outlet adaptor. The tools needed for this repair are: a 5/16 nut driver, 1/4 nut driver, and a small flat blade screwdriver. If cold water does not flow into washer, or the washing machine will not fill with hot water, replacing the valve can be the solution. To gain access to the water valve, locate the back of the washer and remove the hot and cold hoses, as well as the whole assembly. Next, remove the four wires and loosen up the clamp. After removing the old valve, replace it with the new one and reconnect the wires and hose. Remember to disconnect the washer from the power source before starting this project.

Cold water valve only opened to a trickle
I started by unplugging the appliance and then shut off the hot and cold water faucets then I disconnected and drained the hoses. Next, I removed the two screws that held the valve assembly in place. I then pulled the assembly out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wire plugs. The last step was to loosen the hose clamp on the outlet hose and pull off the outlet hose. I reversed the steps to install the new assembly and the total repair took about 10 minutes. Read more...

Washer would fill extremely slowly when on cold water wash resulting in long fill(LF) error code.
The washing machine would only run on the hot water cycle. When trying to use the warm or cold setting, the water would dribble into the drum and result in an LF error code(long fill). I watched a brief video on replacing the water inlet valve which made it really easy to repair. I first turned off the water, disconnected the hoses from the machine, and opened the top to access the valves. I then disconnected the wires from the valve, removed the water tubes, swapped out the valves and put everything back together. I am not experienced in repair but this was a very easy fix! We decided to replace the single hot water valve and the dual cold water valve since it's an older machine and it works like new again! Read more...

No cold water cycle and water constantly dripping into the tub
- Shut off the cold & hot water supply lines.
- Turned on a quick cycle to drain any water left in the pipes. Once no water was coming in I turned off the unit.
- Unplug the unit.
- Remove the cold and hot water lines from the back of the unit. Keep a bucket and towels nearby.
- Remove the 3 screws from the back to remove the lid.
- Pull lid back about a 1/4" and lift up.
- The valve is located at the top rear where the water hoses attach to.
- Using plyers, remove the plastic clips from the valves holding the wires. Remember the location, you will re-attach those clips onto the new valve.
- Remove the single screw holding the valve on the back of the unit.
- Slide the valve just slightly and pull it inward towards the inside of the unit.
- Remove the electronic connections by pulling on the connectors. Remember the locations as you will re-attach them onto the new valve.
- Remove the two hoses that go to the detergent container. Using plyers to squeeze the metal retaining clip, slide it back, then pull the hose off. Do this for both hoses. Remember which hose goes to where.
- At this point, just reverse these instructions to install the new valve starting by attaching the new hoses to the detergent container.
- Then attach the electronic connectors.
- Attach the valve with the screw to the unit.
- Attach the wire clips back onto the valve.
- Attach the hot & cold water lines
- Turn on the water lines and check for leaks
- Plug unit in.
- Run a quick cycle to again check for leaks inside and outside.
- Replace the lid
- Re-install the 3 screws holding the lid.

Water accumulateding in tub overnight.
Install new water valve. Cut water supply off and remove from back of washer. Remove 3 screws in the top panel from the back. Lift up about a inch and pull back. Comes right out. Set aside. Remove clamp from hose that secures hose to valve. Twist it to break contact and then work it off. Remove screw from the back that holds valve on. Pull up a little and remove wires/ connectors. Mark them or take a picture. Replace with new valve. Connect wires and push it into place. Easier if you put the screw back in that holds it. Put the hose and clamp back on. Put cover on and install the 3 screws. Hook up hoses, turn on water and call the wife. Lol Read more...
