Washer Charcoal Filter

PartSelect Number PS1871363
Manufacturer Part Number 8206230A
This Charcoal Filter traps grease from your oven's exhaust to help prevent it from entering the vent, which could cause damage over time. If the exhaust fan on your microwave is not working, you may need to replace your charcoal filter. This charcoal filter is located within the intake grille of your microwave, which will need to be unscrewed and opened to gain access to the filter. The manufacturer recommends that you change your charcoal filter every six months. This filter measures 5 inches by 5.375 inches by 0.375 inches. Be sure to measure your current filter to assure correct replacement. This product is sold individually. We recommend the use of gloves during installation to protect your hands from messy grease during your repair. You should also unplug your appliance at the electrical outlet or switch it off at the breaker. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unthread the screws securing the grill. Open the door and slide the grill to the left and lift it up to remove it. This will allow access to the filter so it can be either replaced or cleaned. Remember to insert the tabs of the grill into the frame and slide it to the right when you are done. To finish, shut the oven door and secure the grill with the screws.

Mounting brackets are fragile and plastic support is easily broken
Replaced the intake grille. The grille should be removed prior to cleaning. The entire part is plastic and easily broken so that the two tabs for the mounting screws are shattered and will not hold the part in place. If one attempts to clean the grille using only a moderate amount of pressure with a cloth the fragile plastic will break. The part is poorly designed. When the vent is removed to replace the charcoal filter, one may discover that the grille has already been broken in a previous cleaning operation. Read more...

Dryer not heating
I followed video instruction in disassembling and set screws from each section into diferent small bowls in the order they were removed. Hardest part was some of the screws were really hard to get loose without stripping them and my control panel did not match video but I figured it out. Replacing the parts were easy and putting it back together. While it was apart I cleaned everything including fan blower wheel. Thanks for the right parts and your online video. With your help and a prayer this 62 year old woman fixed the problem and dryer runs like new. Read more...

The pump filter leaked after cleaning it out. Would work with teflon tape, but wanted to see if a new part would eliminate the need to wrap it every time.
Unscrewed the old part; screwed in the new part and said a quick prayer - LOL!
The part worked great, but I wanted to mention how quickly I received the part!
I would definitely order from this company again!

The fill cycles would start then stop suddenly
This was an easy repair.
1st I removed both water hoses
2nd I removed 1 hex head screw that released a backing plate & removed the plate holding the water inlet valve.
3rd I pulled the 4 electrical connections & loosened a clamp to remove a small water hose.
4th I removed 2 hex head screws that held the water valve to the backing plate.
-----------that was a whole 5 - 10 minutes!------------
Next I reversed the process
4th I attached the inlet valve with the 2 hex head screws
5th re-attached the 4 electrical connections(had slip on spades) pushed on the hose & tighterned the clamp.
6th replaced the backing plate with the inlet valve attached & tightened the single hex head screw.
7th re-attached the hot & cold lines................................DONE
15 minutes tops

I used "Emley's Cheap and Easy Repair" book to remove, install and reassemble the machine.
A lot of time was used to clean the filthy tub and basket.
While replacing the broken motor coupling I decided to replace some of the seals.

No power to dishwasher. Confirmed that outlet had power coming out.
Turn off circuit breaker. Turn off water at shutoff valve usually located under sink. Disconnect water line from dishwasher. Disconnect wires for the power feed from cord, Marked corresponding wires upon removal for re-installation. Remove 2 mounting screws that secure dishwasher to counter. Slide dishwasher out from counter and turn upside down. Use a blanket to prevent scratching of surfaces. Locate component on the back portion of the dishwasher. Unplug 2 wiring harnesses. My part was held on by 2 phillip screws. One in front, the other in the back along the leg bracket support. Once removed, reverse the order of removal. The i a You Tube video you can locate fr this removal. They said that you needed to release a clip to get the part out. Mine had a screw holding it on the back side. This difference cause about an extra 1/2 hour before I was able to figure out that there was NO clip that was being shown on the video. After that, The replacement went smoothly and we were having the dishes washed later that day. Read more...
