Washer would not wash on "normal" cycle. Had to play with the knob to get it to run at all. Washer would not drain properly either.
I unplugged the washer from the electrical outlet.

I then removed the drain hose from the wall drain to allow me to turn the washer to gain access to the the back panel.

From the front, I then removed the plastic timer knob from the timer by unscrewing it. Then I pulled the plastic plate with the arrow on it to remove it. This exposed the screws that attached the timer to the control panel. I left them attached.

I then removed the two screws on the bottom of the front of the control panel (on each end) that attach the control panel to the washer.

I then went to the rear of the washer and removed the two screws on the top of the rear of the control panel.

I went back to the front and pulled the control panel forward and up to release it from the washer.

I then removed the two screws (that were under the plastic plate) that attached the timer to the panel and removed the timer from the panel.

Then I unplugged the wiring harness from the timer and removed the timer completely.

From there I reversed the procedure to install the new timer and knob.

No power to dishwasher. Confirmed that outlet had power coming out.
Turn off circuit breaker. Turn off water at shutoff valve usually located under sink. Disconnect water line from dishwasher. Disconnect wires for the power feed from cord, Marked corresponding wires upon removal for re-installation. Remove 2 mounting screws that secure dishwasher to counter. Slide dishwasher out from counter and turn upside down. Use a blanket to prevent scratching of surfaces. Locate component on the back portion of the dishwasher. Unplug 2 wiring harnesses. My part was held on by 2 phillip screws. One in front, the other in the back along the leg bracket support. Once removed, reverse the order of removal. The i a You Tube video you can locate fr this removal. They said that you needed to release a clip to get the part out. Mine had a screw holding it on the back side. This difference cause about an extra 1/2 hour before I was able to figure out that there was NO clip that was being shown on the video. After that, The replacement went smoothly and we were having the dishes washed later that day. Read more...

Washer control unit went out
Removed two front covers, the one with the dials and one between the washer drier which is at an angle. It was mostly plug and play. The tough part was not knowing the large dials do not pull off like the small dials. You need to pop off the end caps to expose the nuts that bolt the dials to their control boxes. Then remove the right screw on the the top front panel and slide the plastic edge to the right and the metal panel will come off exposing the left retaining screw. Read more...

Washer stops on 1st spin/drain cycle
Unscrew timer/main control knob, then remove 2 spacers behind the knob. Remove 2 main control panel screws at each front lower corner. Rock panel back (pull slightly forward before rocking back to release plastic notches) to expose wire harness and timer. Remove 2 screws holding timer and disconnect timer electrical connector. Put new timer on with screws and attach connector correctly. Rock panel forward into place and reattach panel screws, spacers and knob. Note: Make sure lid switch is working properly before assuming the timer is bad. My switch is also intermittent and needed a shim on lid male plastic piece to engage the switch plate. Read more...

Washer would not drain
Since the machine would not drain, I suspected the drain pump. A friend in appliance repair tested that for me and it was good. All one has to do with that is hook a test line to the pump with 120 volts and if it runs it is good. He then told me to see it the mother board which is located in the right upper area above the dryer drum had a burned place at a resistor and to note if the door would not lock. I checked this and the circuit board was not damaged and the wax motor which locks the door was working OK. (This unit is a combo stack dryer and washer) I then suspected the timer because my wife told me that it had been making a grinding noise. The timer was replaced by the one you sent me and it solved the problem. ( My friend really did not want to work on this machine since he had replaced the inner drum and bearing about six months ago and it took all day)Thanks a bunch. The timer came in one day from the time of order. Read more...
