Microwave door opened hard and came down with a bang. Now it will not work unless I close the door and press on the top left corner.. Seems like something is out of alignment in the latching mechanism?

Hello Tom, thank you for your inquiry. We are recommending replacing the Torsion Springs. The Right side is PS11742586 and the Left side PS11742585. Both are to be used with Stainless Steel models only. We hope this is of some help to you.
Replaced both torsion springs on the microwave door (one side was broken) and it still only heats when I press on the top left corner of the door to actuate the switch. Are there springs on the actual hinges inside the enclosed cabinet?
For model number YKEMC308KM01
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your question. There are no springs that come with the hinges, but you should check both the hinges and the door for signs of wear or damage. If they show these signs they will need to be replaced. If you have any questions, please let us know.
