HOW TO CHANGE WATER FILTER
For model number RF268ABRS
PartSelect logo
Hi Marilyn, Thank you for your question. According to your owner's manual, take a new water filter and put a month indicator sticker on it. The date on the sticker must be six months from the current date. For example, if you are replacing the water filter in March, put the "SEP" (September) sticker on the filter to remind you to replace it in September. Normal filter life is about 6 months. Remove the new filter's protective cap and remove the old filter. Position and insert the new filter into the cover filter. Slowly turn the water filter clockwise to align it with the printing mark on the cover, locking the filter in position. Make sure to align the water filter label mark with the center of cover filter. Remember, do not over-tighten. After the above steps, press and hold the Alarm/Hold 3 sec for Filter Reset button for 3 seconds to reset the filter. Lastly, run about six glassfuls of water through water dispenser to clean the water supply system. Make sure that water flows cleanly again before drinking. Be sure to flush the dispenser thoroughly otherwise air will become trapped in the water lines and water may drip from the dispenser. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Charlie, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, you could have a frozen or clogged drain tube at the bottom of the refrigerator. Check the drain tube and the drip tray at the back of the refrigerator for any clogs or excessive water in the pan. If there is a lot of water in the drip pan, the evaporator and condenser fan may not be evaporating it off. Good luck with your repair.

Left side French Door flap on Samsung refrigerator didn't retract when closing.
OMG seriously! I stopped into my go-to appliance repair shop to ask about what might be needed to repair the problem with my refrigerator door. They said you will need to replace the Mullion Flap piece. Cost would be $250-300 with part, labor and service. I went on line to see if I could handle the repair process myself. I found a How to - U Tube video and turns out I only needed to replace a little spring and pin not the whole Mullion Flap. Went to Parts select, ordered the spring and pin and did the repair myself in about 5 minutes. Shipping was $7 so I ended up paying $13 total.

Installation Video Incorrect
The installation video notes that the door mullion spring has a bent end, and that the bent end of the spring is to be inserted into the LOWER hinge. However, on my refrigerator door, the bent end of the door mullion spring must be inserted into the UPPER hinge in order for the door to function properly. (Also noted that in your video the installer manually closed the door mullion rather than just closing the refrigerator door, another indication that the installation of the spring was incorrect.) After watching the video several times to confirm I was installing the door mullion spring according to the video instructions, I tried inserting the bent end of the door mullion spring into the upper hinge, which proved to be the correct installation of the door mull spring. What should have been a 5 minute repair turned into an ½ hour repair.

lower ice maker water fill tube frozen... suspected that the fill tube heater went bad.
Interestingly, the few authorized samsung parts suppliers I found declared that this model did not have a lower icemaker, whereas this company actually had the specific part. The heater swap is completely straightforward, and simple, but for one detail. The insulation wrap is easily torn when pulling the tube out and my time was spent finding a suitable material to patch the hole. I would recommend purchasing a new tube with heater element and wrap pre-installed. This issue in no way diminished my satisfaction with the product or the prompt delivery time.
