Ice maker needs defrosted. It has build up ice. How do we defrost it to see if that is the issue

Hello Sharon, thank you for reaching out. To defrost the ice build-up on the ice maker, unplug the refrigerator and remove any ice from the ice maker and the ice tray. Then turn a hair dryer on low speed and point it at the refill tube to defrost. We also suggest that you check the defrost heater, part number PS9603664 and the temperature sensor, part number PS4138652. Hello Tamela, thank you for your question. To remove the icemaker bucket you would pull up and out to remove the bucket and access the icemaker. There might be a button on the right side of the front of the bucket on certain styles. Once the bucket is removed, the wire harness cover on the left can be removed, then the bottom cover on the underside of the bucket. I hope this helps.

GOT UP ON THE FIRST STEP OF THE STEP STOOL,REMOVED THE PHILLIPS HEAD RETAINING SCREW FROM THE BROKEN PART.PUT THE NEW CLOSING MECHANISM IN PLACE AND RE-INSTALLED THE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW. STEPPED DOWN FROM THE STEP STOOL AND SHUT THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR.
