All functions of the microwave appear to work, (lights turn on, table spins, etc) except there is zero heating. Is this a magnetron issue or could there be another culprit? Thanks!
For model number ME21M706BAG
PartSelect logo
Hi Chase, thank you for reaching out. If the microwave is running normally, but not heating the food, the first part you will want to replace is the diode part number PS4235633. The issue could also be the magnetron, but it goes bad very rarely. We hope this helps!

The microwave will run but nothing will heat up is there a fuse for this because we tried unplugging the power and turning the breaker off and that did not work
For model number ME21M706BAG
PartSelect logo
Hello Larry, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number that you have provided and do not show a fuse listed. In most cases with a microwave, if the fuse is blown, the microwave would not turn on at all. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: the high voltage diode, the high voltage capacitors, the transformer and the magnetron. For safety reasons, since the microwave capacitor can still store electricity even when the microwave is unplugged, it is usually advised that you discharge the capacitor before any attempt at repair. We have included a link on how to do so. You can test the parts with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Microwave door did not close
Initially I called a Samsung recommended appliance repair outfit to fix the latch. The technician informed me that he does not fix latches. I need to buy a full new door for the microwave for $215 plus he charges $165 to come to my house. I got angry and did some research and it turned out that this is a very common problem. I ordered part PS4229162 "door key" $6.67 then followed the instructions on a youtube video by zimsjeep
"Repair a Broken Microwave Door Latch" to install. At first I struggled a bit hooking up the spring to the frame, but then I used a slim plier to hold the spring (instead of my fingers) and that did the trick.

Microwave would not start when door closed. Sometimes you could push in or jiggle door and it would work for awhile and then it woud stop again. I knew it eas a door switch issue but wasn't certain which of the 3 or the body latch itself.
I removed the body latch assembly and found the bottom micro switch (NC) terminal burnt and loose. I replaced and working perfectly fine now. Easy diagnose and easy repair.

Buzzing noise, no heating of food
Removed control panel, discharged HV capacitor. Removed old diode, tested to confirm failure. Replaced part. Other than the removal of the panel swapping the part was almost as easy as replacing a light bulb.
