My compressor runs and freezes but lets the freezer thaw and doesn’t kick in again until I unplug it for a couple minutes.

Hello Larry, thank you for getting in touch. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest replacing the run capacitor, part number PS3495561, to solve the problem. We ordered the part, which was a key, tied it on the freezer door handle, locked the door and voila, the problem was fixed. (We still have the children. :-)
Turned freezer off at themostat and unplugged freezer. Removed 2 screws at front 2 at the back and 2 at the top. Lowered top cover and removed evaporator fan bracket (2 more screws) removed themostat capulary tube( 1 screw and bracket) then unplug fan motor. Removed motor from bracket (2 screws). Remounted top cover, plugged freezer in the set the thermostat to 4 and freezer is working fine and doing its job.
