This is a carburetor diaphragm, which is an OEM part that pumps fuel from the tank to the engine. It is roughly 1x2 inches and black in color. Sold individually, this part can fail due to fatigue and wear, and if it is broken you may notice your engine is running rough or not starting. If your engine exhibits these signs of being starved of fuel, your diaphragm is damaged and needs to be replaced. Our customers found this repair to be of medium difficulty. It requires a wrench, screwdriver, and pliers to complete. You will be able to locate your diaphragm inside the carburetor itself to swap it out with your new one.

This genuine OEM replacement carburetor is designed for use with lawn and garden equipment. It mixes air and gas before the fuel mix goes to the engine. This kit includes a metal body carburetor and gasket If the engine won\'t start and the tank is full of fresh fuel, test the carburetor by removing the air filter and pouring about a teaspoon of fuel into the carburetor. Pull the starter rope. If the engine starts and then quickly dies, the carburetor is likely the problem. To complete this repair you would need a screwdriver. • Remove the air filter cover • Remove the air filter base • Turn off the fuel • Remove the fuel line • Remove the throttle linkage • Remove the carburetor • Replace the throttle linkage • Connect the fuel line to the carburetor • Replace any damaged/old gaskets • Reassemble the carburetor and air filter base • Mount the carburetor and air filter base • Reinstall the air filter • Replace the air filter cover

Mistreated Briggs & Stratton 206 CC Engine on MTD Chipper
Removed tank and drained old gas.
Removed and disassembled carb. Needed new gaskets and seals, and had to clean corn syrup glaze (separated ethanol) from bowl and everywhere else with carb cleaner.
Throttle linkage was de-plating/rusty. Steel wool and WD40 got it moving again.
Cleaned spark plug electrode.
Reassembled, poured Sea Foam in the bottom of the tank and gave it a few pulls.
Let Sea Foam sit for a while, then filled the tank with Premium.
Blew white smoke for a minute then ran like new. Shredded for a while, then changed the oil.
