Broken Dryer Knob
First let me just say that Partselect.com is now one my stored favorites in my web browser. I came home from a business trip and saw a pair of pliers on the dryer. I thought that was odd until my wife informed me that the knob on the dryer had broken. So she was using the pliers to select the cycle. Somehow she knew where the missing pointer was actually pointing. Since the dryer was over 5 years old I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade both appliances. Not with my frugal wife. A search of the Internet popped up partselect. I ordered Wednesday morning and the parts where on my doorstep late Thursday. Trust me I was very surprised. Everything worked perfectly. Two thumbs up!!! Read more...

After searching on the internet for a very long time, we were almost ready to order the screws "blind" (no picture) from Sears for almost $10.oo per screw. Then I stumbled onto this website and found exactly what I was looking for, with a detailed description AND a picture!! Not to mention a price that was two thirds less than Sears..for TWO screws. Now the oven door is secure and we are no longer on our search for the right screws. Read more...

KitchenAid Ice Maker Hose Clamp

PartSelect Number PS11740613
Manufacturer Part Number WP285655
The hose clamp is used to hold the water hose in place which will prevent the hose from leaking water. Sometimes the clamp may lose its ability to latch on, causing a leaking washer. For the installation, you will need a flat head screw driver to replace the clamp and a drill to access the screws to remove the front of the washer. Be careful if you do not have specific clamp pliers as the clamp could fly off. Once the front of the washer has been removed, take a quick look for water damage or any obvious signs of where the leak is coming from. If it is not obvious, run water to test.

Drive Pump Leaked
It took some trial and error but overall not a difficult project. 1. Take the front covers off. 2. Undo the pully spring to loosen belt 3. Remove belt off idler pulley wheel and free up belt from the large wheel. 4. Disconect the wiring harness and the hoses. 5. Undo the motor mounting bolts (4) 6. Take motor out of washer and remove the 3 screws holding the pump to the motor. 7. The pump had melted to the shaft and required I chisel the pump off of the shaft. 8. Attach new pump paying attention to where the belt is positioned. 9. Reattach the motor bolts, hoses, and wiring harnes. 10. Attach the belt and test the pump. 11. Put the front back on. Read more...

Refrig making a lot of noise
The motor kit had only two wires coming out of it. The existing one in the refrig had 6. I spliced the 2 red to one black on the new part and 2 white to the other black wire on the new part. The two green I attached to a screw. I left the 6 wire harness in place just cut off the plug piece that went into the old motor, and spliced all my wires.
Worked great!

Water leaking out under door
The pump outlet gasket was sticking out and a screw was missing from the pump outlet housing. This was causing water to flood out under the door.

Once I removed the pump outlet housing I saw that the gasket was out of place almost all the way around. I cleaned around the housing, replaced the gasket and the missing screw.

You need a Torx T-15 for this repair. Note that all of the screws on the housing were loose so you might need to tighten them from time to time.

Be careful not to drip a screw when you are installing it since it's a real hassle to fish it out from under the screen.

Once everything was tightened up, the wash pressure seemed to be much higher.

Our washer was purchased 1/6/2006 and it started banging and walking out of its place when the washer started into the spin cycle. This would occur no matter the size of the load.
We followed the instructions show on the video. However, our model was assembled slightly different. We had to remove the screws from both sides of the side panels so that we could remove the tub from inside of the machine. Also our model only has one belt not two.
Over all it was easy considering my husband and I had never attempted to repair a washer. Once we got it back together it when back to working like it had never been broken!
We would have never been able to repair our washer without the video that your site provided... thanks so much!!??

Sure wish the manufactures would consider making the older models again as lots of us are not happy with the new modules being manufactured presently!
