This part is the replacement oven bulb lens cover. It is made of glass and is approximately 3 inches in diameter. The lens cover is rigid and protects the oven light bulb from being damaged. The main reason to replace the oven bulb lens cover is if it is cracked, damaged, or missing. Be sure that the lens cover is cool to the touch before you begin this repair. To remove the lens cover simply turn it counterclockwise until you can remove it. Replace it with a new cover and turn it clockwise to lock it into place. This is an OEM part sourced from the manufacturer, and it is sold individually.

I Tried to remove Oven Light and got a spark that took out the Control Panel.
Oven light was easy - Snapped the Wire Bail, removed the Glass Protect and removed the buld. Installed new bulb, installed Glass Protect and snapped the Wire Bail. The Control Panel was a little harder and had to remove the 4 screws holding the metal Back Plate cover. I wrote down all the wire connections and then unplugged the wires. I took a 1/4 nutdriver and removed 4 screws holding Control panel in place and removed the Panel. The new control panel did not come with the Switch Face Plate so I removed the old one with a razor blade. The Switch Face Plate had plenty of adhessive so I just aligned the Face Plate with the Control Panel and seated it in place - thankfully it held firmly. I installed the Control Panel with Face Plate into the range and secured it with 4 screws using nutdriver. I plugged the wire connectors into the Control Panel and installed the Metal Back Plate to the range and secured it with 4 screws. Plugged the Range into the sockets and checked it for operation. Everything worked Ok including the new oven light. Read more...

This part is a replacement lens for your oven or range. The lens is red in color, and when the elements are turned on, the light behind the lens will turn on to inform the user that the element is, in fact, on. The lens is a little less than half an inch in diameter and is made of plastic. If the light behind the lens still works, you should be able to simply remove the front panel and pop the damaged lens out of position, then replace it with the new one. This part is sold individually and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

The indicator light stopped working
I knew the lens (which also holds the light) was broken. I also ordered the light. I flipped the circuit breaker, raised the stove top and removed the 6 nut-head screws holding the cover plate. A nut driver would have been helpful, but I got by with a 6" crescent wrench. I removed the cover. I unplugged the two wires from the old light and plugged in the new one. I inserted the new lens and slipped the light over it. I flipped the circuit breaker on to make sure it worked. After flipping the circuit breaker off, I replaced the cover plates and the screws and lowered the stove top. I flipped the circuit breaker on. It worked! Read more...
