PartSelect Number PS12726321
Manufacturer Part Number WC11X20163
The splash guard, also known as a mounting gasket, is used for garbage disposals. The guard creates a tight seal between the sink and the garbage disposal ring. This part is black in color and made of rubber. It covers the top of the sink drain and it opens in the center to allow water and food particles into garbage disposal. It does this while ensuring liquids and food do not splash back into the sink. This should be a solution to your issue of garbage coming back out of the sink. Refer to the instructional diagram provided by the manufacturer for installation instructions.

Deteriating splash guard
The splash guard for the disposer was deteriorating and kept falling into the disposer and getting chewed up making it even less reliable. I purchased two different 'universal' splash guards at the hardware store. Neither of them fit. I finally crawled under the sink with my eyeglasses and a flash light to find the model number. I searched for the model number on part select and received veery quickly. I just popped it in (less than a minute) and now everything is wonderful. Don't buy a new disposer (my wife wanted me to) buy the replacement part that is giving you trouble at PartSelect! Read more...

General Electric Garbage Disposer Sink Flange
★★★★★
★★★★★
1 Review
PartSelect Number PS12722852
Manufacturer Part Number WC15X20161
The sink flange attaches to your sink drain opening and provides a connection to mount the disposal unit to the sink itself. If your food waste disposer is leaking, there are a few places that you should inspect. If the leak appears to be coming from around the connection to the sink, look carefully at the sink flange, as there could be an issue with the flange itself, or its gaskets. Remember to disconnect the power from your food waste disposal unit before beginning this repair. This OEM replacement part has an outer diameter of approximately 4.5 inches, and an inner diameter of approximately 3 inches.

Mount Ring was very difficult to remove. Hammer needed to unlock. Once removed, rubber and fiber gaskets were easily replaced. Cushion Mount did not attach properly to sink flange after many attempts, so Mount Ring was placed too high for hopper to attach. The cushion mount was finally placed on flange correctly (not sure why it attached incorrectly previously) but all is well with no leaks. Dishwasher hose needed to be re-attached after hopper mounted and locked in position. Read more...

General Electric Garbage Disposer SUPPORT RING
★★★★★
★★★★★
1 Review
PartSelect Number PS7783352
Manufacturer Part Number WC05X10002
This support ring, also known as mounting ring, is a genuine OEM replacement part for use in food waste disposers. It is a circular plastic piece with an outer diameter of 4.75 inches. It is found inside the disposer housing where it provides support and stability to the unit. The ring helps to evenly distribute the weight of the disposer and waste evenly, so that the disposer does not fall out of alignment. Over time, the support ring may break due to the continuous grinding within the unit, and the exposure to moisture and waste. If the ring is no longer able to stabilize the unit, you will notice food and waste leakage, excessive vibrations, and damage to the disposer components. To begin this repair, first disconnect the disposer from the mounting assembly, and pull out the faulty ring. Place the new ring in its place and reattach the disposer to the mounting assembly.

General Electric Garbage Disposer BATCH FEED DISPOSER STOPPER ASM
★★★★★
★★★★★
2 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS12726320
Manufacturer Part Number WC11X20162
This stopper is designed for use with garbage disposals. If your disposal will not start, will not run properly, or is starting to smell bad, repairing it could be as simple as replacing the stopper. As the stopper ages, the rubber seals might become brittle or worn down. This means that it might not stay in place while the disposal is cycling, and when it is not cycling it will no longer seal the drain well enough to contain odors. This stopper is sold individually, and has an approximate diameter of three inches. You need no tools to successfully replace this part.
