The Grate Foot is a black rubber part which attaches underneath the grate in order to protect your stovetop from being scratched, which it does by cushioning the grate on your gas range. If this part appears visibly broken or no longer holds in place, which can happen to these feet over time, then it should be replaced. Check your model number and user manual to see if this part is right for you. Because this part is sold individually, make sure to order the quantity that you require. We generally recommend checking all of the grate feet on your appliance and replacing them at the same time, since it is an inexpensive part and they tend to wear out at around the same rate. Spares are good to have in the event of future failures. Before beginning this repair, ensure that the surface is cool to the touch. Simply pull the worn or cracked foot out and install the new grate foot. This process should not require any tools or accessories.

FRANK from MEMPHIS, TN
The cooktop had a shorted out burner control.
Unpllug the cooktop and turn off the gas supply. Remove the grates and burners.(they just lift out). Using a torx screwdriver, remove all the torx screws below where the burners sit. There are three screws per burner, except the power burner which has only two screws. Genly lift the stainless steel cooktop, separating it from the rest of the enclosure. Hold the electrodes with one hand, while gently twisting and pulling the wire connector off. Now, remove the aluminum covered foam piece. You will now have acess to the wiring harness assembly. Disconnect the quick connectors and replace with the new assembly. Re-assemble in the reverse order and you're done. About 1.5 to 2 hours. Good Luck Read more...

Manufacturer Part Number WB02X24790
This burner grate foot, also known as a bumper, is an authentic OEM replacement part for your range. It is a small black rubber component that acts as a buffer between the metal grate and the surface of the cooktops to prevent scratches and damage to the cooktop. It also stabilizes the burner grate and prevents it from shifting or sliding, which reduces the risk of accidents or spills. These small components can easily fall and become lost while cleaning or wear down over time. Inspect each of the feet and ensure that you order the correct amount for your range. Each burner grate foot is sold separately.

Cooktop SPACER
PartSelect Number PS8709371
Manufacturer Part Number 00413552
This spacer kit, also known as a grate foot kit, is a set of four padded feet designed to protect your burner grates and prevent scratches on the cooktop. Typically located at the bottom corners of the grates, these feet create a protective layer between the grates and the cooktop surface. You can tell if a grate foot is worn out by checking for signs of damage. Look for any missing pieces or significant flattening of each foot. Your grates may also wobble or not sit level on the cooktop. If the grate feet are not replaced when they are worn out, cooking can become difficult. Unsteady grates may lead to spills, while direct contact with the cooktop can cause scratches, damage, or discoloration. To replace the grate feet, start by unplugging the appliance and shutting it off at the circuit breaker. You will need a putty knife and high-temperature adhesive. Lift the burner grate and turn it over. Use the putty knife to pry out the worn-out foot and clean its slot as thoroughly as possible. Attach the new foot into the slot using adhesive. Remember that each genuine OEM kit contains four feet, so make sure to confirm the required quantity for your cooktop before purchasing.
