Broken lid frame at left hinge.
Raised lid to remove two Torx head screws from each hinge. Lid will then lift off of hinges. Installation of new lid was the reverse of the removal procedure. It is best to install one hinge to the lid by removing that hinge from the washer. The lid can then be installed by inserting that hinge into it's spot and then over the other hinge. Install the hinge screws into the second hinge and the job is complete. The lid now closes properly allowing the automatic lid lock to function properly.

Ordered the parts and followed You Tube DYI clip. This 3YOMaytag top loading washer has had a motherboard replaced and now this. It all works fine for now, I cannot imagine what the appliance tech would have charged. Maytag is not what it used to be.

The door wouldn't stay shut after starting machine.
First I remove the the four screws surounding the front door. Then I took off the front panl cover. This give axcess to the nuts that needed to be removed to lift the top panl. Once the top panl was lifted up (not removed) then I was able to unscrew the door latch that was broken and replace it with the new one. I replaced one conected wire at a time so that I wouldn't get them mixed up. After that it was then easy to put back together! It works great now! Saved me from having to go out and buy new ones or to have a repair man come over. Cost me under eighty bucks! I was very happy! Thanks PartsSelect.com!

Lid cracked by the right hinge and kept getting bigger.
Well the first lid I ordered came with a broken latch, probably due to something being dropped on it as the box had a hole in it. I called PartSelect on a Saturday and the lady I talked to refunded my money immediately. Within 2 hrs PayPal contacted me saying $$ had been refunded to my acct. So I waited a couple of days and decided to reorder from PartSelect and talked to your rep David. He was awesome. That was on a Thursday and lid was here on Tues. I told him lid needed to be packed better and he said he informed supervisor as we spoke. Anyway hubby put on new lid, it’s a matter of 4 screws and took about 6 minutes, and machine works fine.

shaft lock was damaged and agitator would not stay down in proper location
Made a 4 prong wrench from a 2" pipe coupling to remove retaining nut. Had to tap retaining washer a few times with hammer and after that it came off very easy. All other work was very easy. parts went together with ease. Saved company several $'s as we were told it was not recomended to repair and should replace washer. Under $100 for parts and a couple hours labor.

Knob pulled off and I had been turning it on with pliers
removed the 3 screws holding the front cover on to the timer, unsnapped the timer, unpluged it and plugged in the new one then snapped it back in place. put the front cover back and placed the timer cap back on it works like new now and saved me $140 dollars. Very happy to not look like I am trying to extract a tooth when turning on the dryer
