Purchased a discounted gas cooktop stove.
"YOU MAY NEED A LICENSED PROFFESIONAL TO MAKE THESE ADJUSTMENTS." Gas cooktops come set for natural gas (NG) regulator and buds. The size of holes are smaller on propane gas (LP) buds than NG buds. New gas appliances often come with both types of buds in the package. This one did not. The hard part for me was to figure what size bud goes in each burner. The universal kit I purchased from PARTSELECT.COM came with no instructions. Just a bag of buds stabbed onto a color coded card. No explanation for size of each color on the bud's card. Though a drill bit will reveal the hole size, I still did not know which size hole fits what burner. 45 minutes of research on line revealed the chart with the solution. Once a bud's burner location was revealed, it took three minutes per bud using a mm socket to swap out the NG buds for LP buds. Each burner has different size hole in the bud for flow temperature on the burner. 5k BTU or 7k BTU or 12K BTU burners. Swapped the flow restriction valve on the regulator by removing the cap screw on the regulator. Flip the valve to LP and reinstall the cap screw. The new appliance was ready to be installed. Follow connection rules for gas fittings and turn on gass.
No sweet smell gas, squirt joints with soap solution to check for leaks. Do not light burners until leak check is verified no leaks. No leaks detected. Light each burner. Check flame. Works as advertised "YOU MADE NEED A LICENSED GAS PERSON TO PERFORM ALL OF THIS MAINTENANCE."

Gas explosion due to bad Gas Pressure Regulator
First step is to turn gas off to cook top and also disconnect power to the unit. Than using a crescent wrench disconnect the gas line going to the unit from the Regulator. Than again using the crescent wrench disconnect the regulator from the bottom of the unit. Next remove the nipple that connects the gas line to the regulator from the old unit. Apply new pipe dope to the threads and screw it into the new one and tighten down. Next install the regulator to the unit and install the gas line to the regulator. once done with the install you can now plug the unit in and turn on the gas. You are now ready to use the cook top again
