washer doesn't want to agitate, and makes a loud grinding noise
For model number GTWN2800D1WW
Hi Mike, thank you for contacting us. The most common cause of washer making a loud noise and not agitating is worn-out tub bearing. We would recommend replacing the bearings, part number PS271510, to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Clothes are still wet after spin cycle. Also little water puddles in the Tub. Have to run spin cycle twice. What could be causing this?
For model number GTWN2800D1WW
Hi Mike, thank you for contacting us. Most of the times, for a washer that spins but still turns out wet clothing, this is a drain hose problem. It could be clogged, kinked, or positioned incorrectly. You will also need to clean the drain filter, located behind a small access panel at the bottom of the washer. Open the panel, take out the filter, and remove any accumulated debris. If the filter has checked out, the next thing to do is to check the drain pump. You can access the drain pump by removing the drain hose and the back panel of your washer. Check for debris, which should be obvious to see. If you find no blockages, you will need to test the drain pump to see if it is actually working properly. Test the pump for continuity using a multimeter. A reading other than 5-10 ohms means the pump has malfunctioned and needs replacement. You will also need to check the belt. Over time, the belt that helps spin the washer drum can become stretched, which will affect how fast the washer can spin. If the belt is stretched out, it can slide around during the cycle and will not allow the washer to reach the speeds that it needs to in order to remove all excess water. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Can the agitator be replaced with an impeller. The existing agitator is ruining my clothes.
For model number GTWN2800D1WW
Hi Verlene,
Thank you for your question. If the agitator in your washer is ruining you clothes, you may be overloading it. If you are overloading the washer, this may cause your clothes to become damaged during the wash cycle. Overloading the washer places a lot of pressure on the bearings, drum and the motor, causing these parts to wear out and become damaged over time. Overloading the washer may also push articles of clothing into the door or under the agitator which would cause them to pull when the washer is running. Try washing the clothes in smaller loads. Also, check the labels on your clothes to see how they should be washed and make sure you are using the correct wash cycle for the clothes that you are washing. Clothes that are considered delicate should be washed by hand. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

washing machine would not go through all cycles or agitate
After removing frt panel which prys off I checked for anything obvious like a loose belt. Then I jiggled the magnet switch located on the inside of the loading cover. I saw the machine start agitating the it stopped again when I stopped touching it. I ordered the new part and spliced it in with the wire crip tool. Now the machine is A ok.
