The tools you will need to replace the surface burner receptacle kit on your range include a Phillips screw driver, and a pair of wire strippers. Before doing this repair, make sure to disconnect your appliance from the power supply and wear work gloves to protect your hands. The surface burner receptacle kit comes with a plastic block, high temperature wire nuts, a metal bracket, and wires. This part functions as the connection between the wire harness and the surface element in your range.

Stove top element not working due to bad receptacle.
Turned off the power at the breaker box, cut the wires approximately 5 inches from the bad receptacle and removed it after removing one screw. Stripped back the wires about 1/2 inch and attached the new wires with the ceramic wire nuts provided and secured the receptacle back in place with the new screw provided in the kit.
My sister's husband wanted to scrap the whole range but I repaired it with $14.00 worth of parts.
The element is working great now.

This is a 2800 watt, 240-volt Whirlpool oven bake element that is sourced directly from the original manufacturer for stoves, ovens, cooktops, or range ovens. This part should be replaced if the element is not heating, heating unevenly, or is too hot. It has a terminal distance of 16 inches with a terminal depth of 3 inches. Disconnect power to the oven before replacing the bake element. Unscrew the Phillips screws directly above the element brackets to remove the existing element, and remove the wire harness without losing the wires. It is recommended to inspect the wire terminals to ensure they are not arced or burnt while the element is removed.

Replacing bake element as oven wouldn't heat
After viewing the diagram on partselect.com, I knew this would be easy. I first shut off the circuit breaker to the oven, then used a phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the plate securing the element. Once removed, I disconnected the two wires, and removed the old element. I then connected the two wires to the new element, and screwed the plate back into place. I then switched the circuit breaker back on and tested the new bake element which was working perfectly. Oven would not heat
For an oven this old, and not to mention a somewhat unique size, I did not expect to find any replacement parts. I removed the screws from the back of the oven; cut the wires; installed new high temp connectors by crimping them on to the wires; connected and installed the new bake element. I removed 4 screws and then lifted up the top it gave me access to the element I followed the direction that came with the element (very clear to follow) removed and installed the new element and it worked fine. Broiler part wouldn't heat. Element internally broken
i removed the two screws that holds the element in. I pulled the element out and disconnected the wires and I had to adapt a double male adapter to the wire ends and plug the wires back onto the element. The old element had male spades and the new element had female spades. Read more...
