General Electric Range Gas Oven Electronic Control/Clock
PartSelect Number PS3486627
Manufacturer Part Number WB27K10355
This part is the replacement electronic control board for your gas range. It is approximately 11 inches by 4 inches. The control board monitors the temperature and allows you to control the oven heat. If the touchpad will not respond, your oven will not start, or if you are having difficulty controlling the heat, you may have an issue with the electronic control board. Be sure to disconnect power from your range before you begin this repair. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

A lightining Strike fried the circuit board
A G.E. tech came out and quoted $500 to replace the circuit board. I unbolted the board myself and used the camera in my phone to take a picture of the wiring. Then I came to PartSelect.com and using their diagrams found the replacement board for $75. It came in the mail a few days later. I used to picture in my phone to reconnect all the wires, bolted everything back up and baked some cookies. Thanks PartSelect for making my repair job simple and inexpensive.

Controls would not work properly, faceplate cracked.
Installed the faceplate to the front of control board (you might wait until you remove the old board first). Removed 3 screws with a nutdriver holding the top stove black plate and 4 screws holding the control board in place. Disconnected the wiring harness from the 4 pin jack at end of the board and the 4 color coded wires from the color coded pins on several components on the board. Connected the color coded wires and replaced the board into the stove with the 4 screws and replaced the top plate to the back of the stove. My faceplate came in a long envelope and was not bent.

Oven shut down due to overtemperature (code F2). Also, one surface element had erratic control.
Putting the faceplate graphics onto the oven control is tricky. Use the tabs on the bottom and one side of the control unit to line up the faceplate. Be careful because once the faceplate sticks it sticks. That was the hardest part of the repair process. Installing the oven control unit and the surface control unit was straight forward.

Oven would not heat, buttons not working, beeping
Turned power off, removed back cover, removed four screws for control board and replaced. The control board shorted out due to accidentally lifting the bottom heating coil while energized. This caused it to short out on the terminals in the back (did not trip breaker for some reason). Removing those connectors to clean them up a little is the only reason I needed the pliers. All the wires are color coded to put them back where they came from on new board. Because of other stories on this web site, I knew to order the $12 faceplate graphics so I didn't have to try to peel off the old one. Unfortunately, the graphic was damaged in shipping. However, I am getting a replacement free of charge, but I have to take it all apart again to stick it on. 1/4" nut driver is really all a person needs to do this job. Pliers could help pull wires off terminals if they are really tight, and the back panel might be secured with one phillips head screw also. Mine wasn't, but it looked like it should have been so it is now. I also put a little electrical tape on the inside of the rear panel behind those connectors for the bottom heating coil, so if it is ever lifted up again, it won't short out and fry the control board again.

No power to electronic readout screen there was no control to the oven at all. The troubleshooting guide in the oven manual several symtoms said to replace the electronic control board. So I did.
First of all disconnect the power cord and then remove the top section of the oven which consisted of 2 small allen screws located in the front bottom corners [ left and right ] on the frontside. On the backside there was 2 phillip screws on top corners [ left and right ]. Also there was 2 bolthead screws that I use my small socket set or you can use a small ajustable wrench. Once all these were removed it rolled forward right off. The control board was located in the center of the panel. Made sure the part matched up and it did, removed 4 small corner phillip screws and 4 or 5 removable plug in wire connectors which were easily identified. Put everything back together, plug power cord back in and the electronic display came on. Everything worked on the oven. done deal.

Electronic Control button broken
Turned off circuit breaker then unplugged range. Used nut driver to remove cover covering the control. Compared wire connections on new control vs old. Unplugged wires. Used a screwdriver to remove screws attaching controls to range. Note: these screws can drop into a spot that can make them hard to locate. Installed new overlay onto the new control and reinstalled. Plugged wires onto new control. Reinstalled rear cover over control. Plugged in power cord and turned on circuit breaker. Checked all functions. Note: order a new overlay with new control as it is adhesive backed and would be hard to remove the old one.
