Door gasket wasnt sealing anymore and had some minor cracks

Old refrigerator gaskets were worn out

I unboxed the replacement gasket set and inspected them for damage. Then I opened the left refrigerator door and grabbed the right hand corner of the old gasket and removed it. I then aligned the new gasket with the door and using my fingers pushed the gasket into the gasket grove. I used my thumb to seat the gasket. I repeated the process for the right door. This part is a replacement refrigerator drive shaft seal for your refrigerator. The drive shaft seal protects the auger motor from water and condensation that may leak down the drive shaft from the ice bucket. If the seal is broken, water and condensation can get in, causing the ice maker to fail. To replace the seal, first remove the ice bucket from your freezer. Then remove the two screws on the drive shaft holder, and use a pair of pliers to remove the drive shaft. At this point you can remove the seal from the drive shaft. Be sure to clean the area that the seal sits in before you reinstall the drive shaft. This part is white in color and is about an inch in diameter. The seal is sold individually.

ice dispensor didn't work

removed front cover to the ice maker. checked the electric motor to if it was frozen. Moved it back and forth. Still didn't work. Removed electric motor by removing four screws. Found that electric motor would work when laying on its side but not when correct position. Guessed it was a short in the motor but the motor is completely sealed so simply replaced the electric motor. Removing and replacing the motor took less than15 minutes. My original gaskets for the fridge and freezer doors seemed to have lost their magnetic hold

I opened the freezer door and peeled out the freezer gasket, inserted the new gasket, and closed the door. I repeated this same process for each of the French doors on the refrigerator. This was very easy to do. The only issue is the replacement gaskets don't seem to have any better stick or magnetic hold than the original gaskets, so I'm not sure the repair will improve the energy efficiency / performance of the appliance.
