Hi Tom, thank you for reaching out. We would recommend checking the door switch first. If the issue persists, you may need to replace the dryer timer, part number PS11749833. We replaced the thermal fuse and thermostat 2-3 months ago, now the thermal

Hello Tina, thank you for contacting us. The thermal fuse blows when the dryer is overheated. The dryer overheating occurs mostly due to a blocked vent and dirty lint filter, part number PS11757278. We would recommend cleaning the lint filter and also inspecting vents for blockage. If the lint filter is damaged you will need to replace it. Hi Deborah, thank you for your question. According to our research, you may need to test the thermostat with a multimeter for continuity at room temperature. If your reading indicates a defective thermostat, it must be replaced with part number PS11742185. First I unplugged the dryer, then removed the back panel, this exposed most all of the wiring and I could see the heater coils. Not knowing what the problem was I started looking at the coils and could not see any broken parts. Read moreneedle nose pliers, it was held in place by two screws, once they were removed the fuse came out easily, I checked continuity with a volt meter placing the meter on X1 Ohms and could not get a reading. I replaced with a new one and put it all back together the way I took it apart. Then I plugged it in and it worked first time, I now have warm dry clothes.
To reach the heating element you only need to open the back cover of the dryer (about 8 nut-head screws). Remember to disconnect the power.
