Clock and lights all work as soon as you press power button it trips the breaker
For model number JVM3160DF2WW

Hi David, Thank you for your question. If the microwave is tripping the breaker, it may be on a circuit that is shared with other appliances. When the microwave is in use, this will overload the circuit. Make sure that the microwave has its own dedicated circuit. If the microwave has it's own dedicated circuit, then there may be an issue with the microwave itself. To verify if the microwave is the issue, plug it into an outlet that has a higher amperage. If the circuit trips when you turn the microwave on, then there is a problem with the microwave and you will need to either replace it or check the parts inside the microwave to see which one is causing the issue. When testing some of the high voltage parts in the microwave, you will need to release the potentially dangerous charge from the capacitor by using an insulated pair of needle nose pliers to touch both terminals simultaneously. Be careful not to touch the metal portion of the tool. If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, please get an electrician to help you with this repair. If the breaker does not trip then the microwave needs its own circuit. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

How do i replace the door handle?
For model number JVM3160DF2WW
PartSelect logo
Hello and thank you for writing. To replace the door handle on your microwave oven use a putty knife to pry out the left side of the door trim. Now use a Phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the door handle mounting screws. Remove the old handle. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Hello Ellen, Thank you for the question. This is normally caused by a defective door switch Part #: PS8754454 and Part #: PS8754455. I suggest testing the switches to check for continuity. Hope this helps!

Had to replace charcoal filter
Open the front cover by pushing it at the top (where it says “Push”), lifting up and pushing back on top edge of the old filter. Pull it out. Installing the new one is basically just the reverse of those steps! That simple.

Old filter did seem to be a little thicker (filter material), but the new one was the exact same dimensions, so it went in properly. Wish the filter material was white, so you knew just how dirty it was actually getting. But... :-D
