Removed the dishwasher. Simple to remove and replace the pump, flapper, and o-ring. Reinstalled dishwasher. It worked!
The GE Advantium was another story. Replaced the Magnetron, diode, and capacitor. Oven still did not work so I took it to the dump. No more GE!

General Electric Microwave Magnetron

PartSelect Number PS3529034
Manufacturer Part Number 6324W1A001L
This magnetron in your microwave creates the radiation needed for cooking or warming your food. It is located inside the main cavity, typically near the transformer or waveguide. When the magnetron becomes defective, your food may not heat up properly or heat up at all. Additionally, buzzing or humming sounds may be noticeable while the microwave is in operation. With a malfunctioning magnetron, your microwave loses its primary function. To remove it, you first need to unplug your microwave from its outlet. Before touching any components, discharge the capacitor by placing a screwdriver, with an insulated handle, across the two terminals of the capacitor. Once the capacitor is discharged, replace the current magnetron by disconnecting it from any wires and removing any mounting screws or clips. This magnetron is sold individually and is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer.

Magnitron failed
Over the stove microwave installed in top cabinet row.
1. Unplug device.
2. Two people to remove from wall/cabinet (remove two, large, top mounting screws and rotate entire microwave down and off the wall mount). Should be some wood spacers between top of device and bottom of cabinet.
3. Remove screws from sheet metal cover.
4. Remove one screw holding blowers in place and rotate out of the way, in order to gain access to 2 of 5 screws that hold the magnetron in place.
5. Unplug magnetron and remove the 5 screws.
6. Drop in new magnetron and re-assemble microwave in reverse order (steps 5-3).
7. Two people restore micro to wall/cabinet. Replace wood spacers, re-install two, large mounting screws (finger-tight). Test device. Secure the two large screws.

microwave would not heat up
I removed the microwave unit (built-in) from the housing above the built-in oven with just two screws and unplugging it. I then removed the screws from the top and sides of the microwave access panels to allow access to the magnetron. I then removed the electrical connections from the magnetron, which is very simple and then the screws which held the magnetron in place. Replacement of the new part was just the reverse of removing the other one. Cost to do this by a technician would have been somewhere in the neighborhood of $65.00 for coming to the house, and $75.00 per hour rounded to probably 2 hours to do it. So, doing this yourself is satisfying not only in knowing you did the job, but the $200.00 plus dollars you saved as well. Read more...

Microwave would run but not heat.
It wasn’t the magnetron.
It wasn’t the diode.
It wasn’t just the fuse.
It was the High Voltage Capacitor (HVC). You know, the very thing they warn you about when opening the microwave. Just remember to discharge it using needle-nose pliers before probing around to find the problem. I also suggest you invest in a multimeter so as not to waste hundreds of dollars like I did; that way you can go straight to the real problem instead of replacing symptoms. If you replace the HVC, you will also want to replace the two fuses right in front of it. Also, there is a wiring diagram and a troubleshooting flowchart tucked behind the front console near the top. It is extremely useful!

blowing 15 amp fuse when hitting power button
Looked at schematic to see which parts became active when the power button was pushed. From there used meter to determine diode was open and capacitor was shorted. Biggest trouble was dis-assembly/assembly required to get to electrical parts. Read more...
